Max Academy USA is a fast-growing network of high-quality preschools across Florida and Texas, committed to transforming early childhood education through operational excellence and a genuine passion for serving families and communities.
We combine organic growth with strategic acquisitions to build a connected network of top-rated early childhood education centers — and we're looking for sharp, driven leaders to grow with us.
About the Role
As Director of FP&A, you will be the CEO's right hand on all things financial — owning the numbers, the models, and the narrative that drives our financial and operating decisions across the entire network.
Key Responsibilities
Own and maintain the corporate financial runway — updated daily with actual transactions, P&L metrics, and forward-looking projections up to 120 days.
Present the runway file every Friday, including reconciled historical data and updated income and expense projections.
Dynamically adjust projected revenue from government and state programs in real time, based on inputs from the Administration team.
Monitor bank availability and validate coverage of monthly credit card obligations two days before each card's cutoff date.
Review all credit card expenses monthly within 10 days of each cutoff date — flagging and escalating any variances from Board-approved budgets immediately.
Prepare school-level OPEX reports for each campus within the first 5 days of each month.
Oversee the accuracy of QuickBooks bookkeeping entries and lead a monthly financial statement review with leadership within the first 10 days of each month.
Review and approve annual tax returns for each school entity before IRS submission.
Keep SOPs and the internal Loom video library up to date on a monthly basis.
Requirements
Advanced Excel mastery — you build complex financial models from scratch, manage multi-tab dynamic workbooks, and are genuinely faster in Excel than most people are in any tool.
Exceptional attention to detail — you catch errors others miss, and you take pride in clean, accurate, audit-ready work.
Strong business acumen — you don't just report numbers; you understand the business model deeply enough to interpret what the numbers mean and what to do about them.
Experience with multi-entity or multi-location organizations — managing financials across multiple school or business units is a plus.
QuickBooks proficiency — comfortable reviewing entries, identifying discrepancies, and working alongside a bookkeeper.
Clear, concise communicator — able to translate complex financial data into crisp presentations and written summaries for executive leadership.
Proactive and self-managing — you hit recurring deadlines without reminders and escalate issues in real time.
Bachelor's degree in Finance, Accounting, or related field; MBA or CPA is a plus.
