For every child, the right to advocacy In Ecuador, advancing children’s rights requires not only strong programmes, but also effective advocacy, strategic positioning, and the ability to influence decision-making processes in a complex and evolving political and social environment. How can you make a difference? UNICEF Ecuador is seeking a dynamic Communication Officer (Media Visibility & Advocacy) to support strategic advocacy, media engagement, and public positioning efforts that advance children’s rights and influence national dialogue and decision-making. The role combines analysis, strategic advisory, and execution, contributing to the development of evidence-based advocacy actions, public positioning strategies, and high-level engagement processes. The Communication Officer (NOA) contributes to strengthening UNICEF Ecuador’s advocacy and public positioning by: Producing strategic intelligence and analysis to inform decision-making. Supporting the design and implementation of advocacy strategies. Leading the execution of positioning actions across media and public platforms. Ensuring coherence of institutional narrative across programmes and partnerships. Work Experience: Minimum 1 year of relevant professional experience in communication, advocacy, public affairs, or related fields is required. Language Requirements: Fluency in Spanish and English is required. Desirables Language: Knowledge of another official UN language (Arabic, Chinese, French or Russian) is an advantage. Experience in analysis of political or social context and development of strategic communication or advocacy inputs is highly desirable. Experience working with media, public positioning, or campaigns is an asset. Experience with government, international organizations, or NGOs is desirable. Background/familiarity with emergency situations is desired. Relevant experience at country level, particularly in development, fragile settings and humanitarian contexts.
